Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport(IATA: CGO, ICAO: ZHCC), abbreviated as "Xinzheng Airport", is located in Xinzheng City and Zhongmu County of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China (under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone). It is 25 kilometers away from the urban area and is a 4F-class international civil airport. It is a core component of the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, an international air cargo hub airport, one of the eight regional hub airports in China, an international airport with "7×24 hours" and "all-time" customs clearance, a large domestic aviation hub airport, an international scheduled flight airport, and a Class I national aviation port open to the outside world.
On August 28, 1997, Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport was completed and opened to navigation. It was relocated from the civil part of Zhengzhou Yanzhuang Airport. In May 2002, the aviation port of Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport passed the national acceptance inspection and was later renamed Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport. On December 29, 2007, the T1 terminal building of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport was officially put into use. On December 22, 2015, the T2 terminal building of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport was officially put into use. On January 7, 2016, the second runway of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport was put into use. On March 30, 2016, the T1 terminal building of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport was decommissioned. On September 7, 2022, the North Cargo Area of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport was officially put into use.
As of November 2024, the T2 terminal building of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport has an area of 486,000 square meters. The civil aviation apron has 149 passenger aircraft parking positions and 25 cargo aircraft parking positions. The first runway is 3,400 meters long and 45 meters wide, and the second runway is 3,600 meters long and 60 meters wide. It can meet the annual demand of handling 40 million passengers and 1.1 million tons of cargo and mail. As of October 28, 2023, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport has a total of 34 passenger airlines, operating 182 passenger routes and serving 116 destinations.
In 2022, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport handled a total of 625,000 tons of cargo and mail throughout the year, a decrease of 11.4% compared with the previous year; the passenger throughput was 9.222 million person-times, a decrease of 51.3%.
